Description of the tool
HUD (Housing and urban development) framework uses geographical tools and spatial analysis for the assessment of program effectiveness, for understanding housing needs, and for addressing broader issues of residential segregation and poverty, as well as infrastructure provision and access to services. GIS is used as a technical tool in order to provide for: development of place-based data systems; conduct spatial analysis research; collaboration among researchers, practitioners, and policy makers; development of internet base tool to support housing decisions for householders.
